Powerful Infrastructure to Power Your Business

RackCentral’s data center services is located at Melbourne DataCentre situated in 530 Collins Street, The Stock Exchange Building. The 750 square meter facility includes top notch security as well as redundancy in all critical systems. The on-site Network Operations Center (NOC) is staffed with experts, allowing them to monitor the network for performance issues and proactively troubleshoot any potential issues.

APC Locking Cabinets

The main raised floor data center area contains multiple rows of co-location cabinets for everything from shared hosting to dedicated servers to single U co-location to a full private co-location cabinet. Rows are set up in a Hot Aisle – Cold Aisle configuration. Each cold aisle is fed from the HVACs by cold air from under the pressurized floor via strategically placed perforated floor tiles. This configuration maximizes the environmental efficiency of our HVAC units.

Environmental Control

Redundant Liebert 150KW HVAC units keep the temperature and humidity within the DC at optimum levels. These down flow air units also have changeable filters that control the air quality within the DC. The down flow configuration pressurizes the raised floor cavity allowing out technicians to target cooling within the DC as needed. Each HVAC unit is visually inspected at the beginning of every shift by our tech staff.

Dual Power Supplies

Uninterpretable Power Supplies (UPS’s), 2 x Thycon 800 kVA, back up all critical systems. These units provide a critical power bridge between the time that a loss of power from electrical grid is detected to the time that the back-up generators take over and provides power to the facility, ensuring that there is no power loss to the critical systems and customers. Our UPS.s run a monthly self battery test and are serviced on a semi- annual basis for preventative maintenance.

Redundant Generators

The DataCentre has multiple emergency generators waiting on standby, featuring over 24 hours of autonomous run-time before requiring refueling. Each generator is test run at least once a month to ensure they are ready in the event they are needed. Generator power is activated automatically in the event of a power failure by the transfer switch. The data center load is maintained by the UPS units with at least 10 minutes of capacity, however this is not necessary as the generator is active and up to speed within 10 seconds of a power failure.

Melbourne DataCentre

Secured Facility

The state-of-the-art data center is housed in a secure facility tracked with closed circuit digital cameras, biometric finger scans, key cards, coded badges, controlled access after hours, security system monitoring, restricted access beyond the lobby, and security guards 24×7.
